Getting your drone registered with the FAA

I recently bought a drone and was happily getting ready to fly it in a field nearby before double-checking on the FAA website whether any specific training or registration was necessary to fly a drone that weighed 249g. That weight was supposedly chosen for a very specific reason – to qualify for the FAA’s exception for recreational flyers. Reading a little farther on the FAA’s website on recreational drone pilots though revealed that there are a few requirements that need to be met even for drones lighter than 250g. Read more here…
